So you can show your own personal style with your scrubs, we are always on the look for new and upcoming trends. We want to make sure we carry what’s “hot”! Styles change often so trying to keep up with the trends is enough to make your head spin! I started thinking about different medical uniforms that have been in style for a long time and I came up with a list of a styles and prints that have become a trendy uniform staple for the fashionista at heart! Over the next few weeks I will focus on some of them, and today I want to place the spot light on one fan favorite (as well as mine), and that is animal print uniforms!

I have seen a lot of zebra & cheetah prints while shopping around town and nursing uniform manufactures seemed to have noticed this trend as well! We have been getting in super cute animal prints including  Baby Phat’s 100% Cotton Animal Instinct Mock Wrap Scrub Top, Sanita’s Professional Safari Patent Clog, and Baby Phat’s Wild Kingdom Scrub Top which has just a hint of zebra print for the not-so- bold crowd.

Katelyn - The 100% Cotton Born Grumpy Scoop Neck Scrub Tooniforms Top by Cherokee is my favorite Summer 2012 item. First off, who doesn’t love the Carebears? The fact that they put Grumpy Bear on a bright fun summer colored shirt makes it even better. I also love that this top has an adjustable drawstring at the waist and the ruffle trim around the neckline gives the top a nice classy look.

Amanda - I’m choosing Jungle Pink Shirred V-neck Scrub Top by White Cross and the 100% Cotton Go Cat Go Crossover Scrub Top by Baby Phat – you’re able to show off your wild and fun side with the animal prints, while maintaining a professional look!

Leesa - I love the White Cross Juicy Round Neck Scrub Top!  Maybe it’s the name that captures my attention, but I sure do love the colors and the large graphic print.  This scrub top has the appeal of a high design lux scrub, and the price is definitely right.

Lindsey - Fuzzy Owls Shirred V-neck Scrub Top by White Cross, I love this cute owl print and the shirring detail on the neckline.
 
Also the 100% Cotton Stitch In Time Tie Neck Scrub Top by Peaches, I love the feminine style and bright cheery floral print. It doesn't even look like a scrub top!

Melissa - I love the Women's Long Sleeve V-neck Tee by Carhartt! It would go great under any top and the length is perfect at 27 1/2". I also liked the Professional Safari Patent Clog by Sanita. The giraffe print is so funky and wild! An easy way to jazz up your nursing uniform!

These two new stylish scrub tops from Baby Phat's World Glamour Collection recently arrived at www.LydiasUniforms.com and I wanted to give you a first look! Both items feature a pretty scoop neckline and eclectic prints. These are my favorite scrubs. My first pair of scrubs that are an actual design after graduating college. I love how modern they look.....finally something that fits my AGE GROUP!! I love the way they fit too. It has elastic under the breast area and ties in the back so it still fits my hips and isn't enormous on top. I usually can't find scrubs that fit right because of that, but these are perfect.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. If you’re working on February 14th, instead of worrying about what to wear on a date with your sweetheart, you might want to think about what to wear on the job. So what will you be wearing to work this Valentine’s Day, a heart print top or your regular medical uniform? Or will you be taking the day off?

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month-a month that is dedicated to promoting the fight against breast cancer and raising awareness around the globe.  National Breast Cancer Awareness Month has been recognized since 1985 and has steadily grown since then. Each year I'm impressed with the efforts made by my fellow students, co-workers and friends to support this cause and I know that as we move into October I'll see my co-workers here at Lydia's making their own contributions to promote awareness.

To help you show your support, we’ve stocked our online store with breast cancer awareness nursing scrubs and medical supplies from Baby Phat, Cherokee and Dickies. If you place your order now you’ll have your new medical scrubs by the beginning of October and you can wear them throughout the month (and of course there’s nothing wrong with wearing them year round).

Uniform designers are always finding new ways to add fashionable elements to basic scrubs, while still maintaining the signature look of a medical uniform. Some of my favorite medical scrubs are the basic tops that have subtle details which make them stand out. While checking out our newest products, I noticed a few great pieces that fell into this category. For example, this top by Cherokee ---->
is a basic solid that comes in a classic Ceil Blue, but it also has a fun neckline which is highlighted by the contrasting navy trim. Another example is this crossover top by Baby Phat. ---->
Although the look is simple overall, the scrub top has stylish tone on tone stitching and a feminine fit (thanks to the elastic on the back of the waist), which make it a bit different. Plus you can buy it in white and keep up the classic style or you can make a statement and get it in fuchsia! Both of these tops are dress code appropriate, but they’re still not your average scrubs.
