Speak your mind and win a spot as guest editor at Lydia’s Uniforms. If you win you get a $50 gift certificate to spend on new medical uniforms and your winning entry will be featured on our blog! Each month there will be a different topic, so feel free to enter every month to increase your chances of winning. We’re running the contest wherever you connect with Lydia’s, whether it’s our blog, MySpace or Facebook.

For April, we want to hear all about the places where you work. Do you put on your scrubs each morning and head in to a small pediatrician’s office, a busy x-ray lab or a crowded wing of the local hospital? Do you work with hundreds of people or a few familiar faces each day? Wherever you work, whatever the setting, we want to hear about it. Tell us a little bit about the environment that you work in each day. Leave a comment about your job, the people, whatever you like. And don’t forget, by sharing your story, you’ll automatically be entered to win a $50 gift certificate to Lydia’s Uniforms. Leave your comment and enter now; good luck!

The important details (there aren’t too many):
-Comments must be under 200 words.
-The contest will begin on the first of each month and end at 11:59 p.m. on the last day of the month
-One winner will be chosen from all of the comments we receive.

When I put on my scrubs each night( yes the night shift!!), I never know what the night may bring. I work in a pediatric emergency department, that is the only level one pediatric trauma center in our state. I love the fact that every day is different at work and that we never get bored!! When I put on my scrubs i go from mommy to ER nurse and my kids know that when the scrubs go on that mommy has to go take care of the kids that are sick or hurt, and I thank god as i head out the door that my kids are safe and healthy.

I am a CV Educator at a very progressive, but small hospital in Katy, TX. We have been blessed with the honor of being named the best place to work in Houston two years in a row! The credit for that goes to the amazing people that I work with. The culture here is so friendly and family-like. There are daily hugs and constant smiles. Our administration is progressive and open-minded, leading to a hospital that nurtures and supports its staff. From nursing to housekeeping to doctors to admitting, we all work together to make our hospital the best place for our patients to be!

I work on a busy surgical floor and I love to put on my colorful scrubs which I hope brighten some of the patients day. I had on a colorful green and blue one the other day and many of the patients commented on how cheery and bright it was. Each day changes with faces, some of familiar and some are constantly changing. My day is never the same depending on the OR slate for the day, emerg cases etc...but I love it!

I am a busy nurse and I work 2 jobs, so I wear my scrubs a lot! I work in a county jail and a busy community health urgent care. My scrubs are important for my work in the jail. Besides working with the people who come to jail, I also sometimes called to court to address medical concerns. My variety of Lydia scrubs keeps my appearance professional in a court room setting. I enjoy using character and print scrubs at my urgent care job, especially with all the children I work with. While my scrubs can be fun with the characters and prints, they are always neat and professional so everyone knows- I'm the nurse!

I work on neuro/ortho/peds surgical floor. We are 27 beds and take patients from birth through end of life. It is definitely a challenge. I just ordered my first supply of uniforms from ya'll and I love them. The customer service was great, everything fit and is of exceptional quality. I have been a nurse for 22 years and have worn lots of uniforms and dealt with lots of companies, but ya'll are absolutely great. Look forward to placing more orders soon.

My husband and I both work at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center and both of us work 12-hour nights. I love my job and the opportunity it gives to care for America's heroes. Just this evening I talked with a Veteran who served with General Patton. It is with much pride to walk in feeling crisp and professional in our brightly colored and fitted uniforms. We love the products you offer and the prompt service we recieve with on-line ordering.

I've been working at a Daycare Center for the past 14 years. I work with infants and love to wear my scrubs with characters and pretty solids. As you can imagine, I get a lot of use out of my scrubs what with all the burping and crawling on all fours I do each day. I love my job, and I love your scrubs!

Hi,I am a very busy lady, I have been a nurse for 21 yrs., but before I got here, I was a battered wife to a Border Patrol Agent. He broke my nose and fractured the right side of my skull. I divorced him and continued my education, like taking requisites for the RN program. I finished them and decided to go into CSI, a Crime Scene Investigator. I am a full time nurse Instructor and a full time student and will be gradutaing in Oct. after 3 yrs of studies. I will graduate with my associates and continue with my Batchelors.... yes im very busy, mother and wife. I love my scrubs they are so comfortable..and my students ask me where I get them,,,I have one for everyday of the month and have not repeated any of them. Thank you so much I dont kno what I would do if we didnt have them...

I am currently a scrub nurse and I am attending school to obtain my B.S.N. I work in a hospital OR in Nashville, TN. I love my job. It is the first job that I have had that I have liked. It can sometimes be very busy and demanding, but for the most part we have alot of fun and enjoy what we do. I am at work every morning by 6:45am and sometimes I don't leave until 5 pm or later. The length of my days can vary from 6 hours to 14 hours, it depends. I also had a baby in May 2008 and I have gotten smaller than I was prior to my pregnancy so all of my scrubs are too big.

We all wear your scrubs in the lab. I was writing an article on "back safety" and when instructing our employees about protecting their lower back....I typed "keep your lover back in a slightly arched position" Our CEO caught the spelling error. I thought we should have kept it to see if our employees were really reading their annual safety review.

MY COMFORT IS NOT ALL THAT MATTERS WHEN I WALK INTO WORK. I WORK IN A SPECIAL CARE NURSERY AND WHEN I HANDLE MY PATIENTS, I NEED TO KNOW THEY ARE AGAINST SOMETHING SOFT, COMFORTABLE, AND NON-IRRITATING. I LOVE MY JOB AND I LOVE MY SCRUBS!!

I get to help people and when people get out of my chair, I feel I have provided a great service of oral hygiene and educating the patients on how to maintain their oral health! I got out of school a year ago, so I just starting buying scrubs! I love every pair I have purchased from you all. I get compliments everyday I work about how cute my scrubs are! I am currently 29 weeks pregnant with my first child(IT'S A BOY)!! I love helping people get their teeth clean and looking cute in your scrubs is a plus too!! (Not so sure how cute I can look...looks like I have a bsketball under my top! =)

I work in a busy nursing home. I have recently transitioned from working the floor to a management position. I LOVE wearing my Cherokee Workwear scrubs, and I've learned through out the years, that the geriatric population love to see the new bright and different things that we as nurses wear. I like seeign what Lydia's has new to offer me and my patients.

I work night shift on the Palliative Care/Cancer unit of the hospital. Most people think I am crazy to love working in this unit but it is very rewarding to me personally to help a patient pass away peacefully and help the families deal with this. I love my job and would not trade it for anything. I feel like this is what I was meant to do.

I am currently in an RN program and work as an LPN at a rehabilition facility in Arizona. I am in scrubs almost everyday. I like how the uniforms fit and the ease of ordering them online. I just recently ordered a nursing scrub dress which I will be wearing for my pinning ceremony. It fits well and I am happy that I had no problems with my order. Thank you. :)

I work in a university medical center that is very busy and high acuity. When I get to work, I know that our team of nurses and physicians are ready for anything. We mainly wear Urbane and Cherokee Uniforms and look very professional for many reasons, mainly comfort. The nice thing about our uniforms is that they reflect the way we work, very professional and up to date. We are the top clinicians and save lives daily using evidence based practice as our guide with a touch of innovation. The scrubs we wear reflect an image of up to date look that is exactly what we are professionally in the clinical area. I would love to win more scrubs because I think that it is refreshing to wear scrubs in our high acuity area that look great and feel great and it is always nice to have new things. We work well with change in our unit.

I work in the best Chiropractic office ever! I put my scrubs on everyday just thinking about all the wonderful patients I will get to see and who I may get to help that day. Some days I meet a patient that may not be able to walk and I have to help them out of the car. But by the end of the week they are walking and ready to go dancing! It is so gratifing! Just this morning I had a 4 yr old boy say "Why are you so happy everday"? I just told him I love to see each of my patients everyday!. He told me I do a great job and he is not scared of nurses anymore! Scrubs are great and make me look professional and I stay comfortable.

I am a single mother of six, f/t RN student and after a yr since I was laid off will be working as a phlebotomist again, in a week. I love my patients. I worked 2 yrs drawing at hospitals at 3am. I will now be working at 4am and even though I have to get up early and wake ppl up to take blood from them, I like to wear my dickies scrubs bc they are comfortable and are different from most of everyone elses...the pts even love the different styles and colors. They love how cheerful I am and how my colorful scrubs make them feel more at ease.

I am currently finishing up school to become a medical assistant by doing my externship at an OB/GYN office. My job working with the expectant mothers is wonderful! I love my bright, cheery scrubs and when the mom's-to-be are down in the dumps with their "baby blues" see them they always compliment me on them and tell me how it really helps pull them up.

I work as a phlebotomist and receptionist in a decent sized family practice. Monday through Thursday I wear my scrubs and Friday is dress down day which is a problem because I LOVE wearing scrubs! I see a wide range of patients from pediatric to geriatric and enjoy being a phlebotomist. I'm also a paramedical examiner and visit people at their home or place of work to draw blood, collect urine specimens, gather vitals and medical histories for insurance companies. I wear my scrubs while I do this as well because they are more comfortable and look more professional. I am also an EMT but unfortunately I am not permitted to wear scrubs on emergency calls although I have worn them on a call on my way home from work. I have a big collection of scrubs some I bought and some were issued as part of a uniform. I'm always looking a new colors and styles and now some scrubs don't even look like scrubs so it is tempting to buy them all!

I have had the awesome opportunity of working with soldiers that have returned from Iraq, Afghanistan, and other areas in this time of war. When they see a smiling face in dazzling scrubs the comments range...Some are just glad to see something bright and nice in the middle of the night and others just compliment the different styles. Nevertheless, it makes a difference. Being able to have a positive effect on the soldiers, families, friends, and retirees is a blessing all in itself.

I work at a small doctors office in moultonboro NH as an CMA and I am also a FF/EMT-B. My scrubs can go from one job to another and will stand the stress. I love the durability. The colors and prints are bright and happy and can be calming to a patient on a stressfull situation. My patients always ask were I get my scrubs and I say Lydia's.A little story,I had a anaphylactic reaction to latex and ended up going by ambulance to the hospital and they cut my favorite scrub.I do not have many because I have three children so this $50.00 would really help!!!! Thanks! suesue

I work in a busy Occupational Health clinic for Sparrow Hospital in Lansing Mi. I love my job and the ppl I work with! I love wearing bright colorful prints at work. I wear my scrubs 9 to 10 hours a day, so it's important for me to have on something that looks and feels good.

The children smile as I walk by in a scrub top with my favorite cartoon characters. As I open the door to my office- the children swarm. "My mom said if I don't feel good, I could go see the nurse and she'll send me home". I glance at my watch and smile since school hasn't even started yet! For you see, my job as the school nurse begins the moment I pull into the parking lot. All day I am busy treating, reassuring, counseling, and administering to 800 elementary students. Not only do the students depend on me, but I get daily visits from staff members for blood pressure checks, advice or a suggestion of what medicine will help that annoying headache. My scrubs must be soft, cheery, durable, flexible, and represent me as the person to come to for care and comfort.

I work for a great group of ophthalmologists and we just moved into a new office about two months ago. We decided to change our uniforms to a new color to blend in with the new office. There are about 25 of us and most of us purchased our uniforms from Lydia's and had a great time doing so. The patients are always expressing how great the colors match the office. It's a good feeling, a new office and new uniforms.

I have and still work in varied settings. I work at an acute care hospital with med/surg palliative care patients through a staffing agency and work part-time at a local long term care facility. Wherever I go I feel very appreciated for the care and knowledge that I provide. It is important to me to have comfortable yet stylish scrubs and Lydia's is the place to shop for all of my favorite brands like Grey's Anatomy, Cherokee and Koi. Happy Nurses's Week everyone. Lydia thanks for bring us hard working nurses the scrubs we need at affordable prices.
