Spring is finally here; and the 3 inches of snow we still have on the ground here in the midwest is deceiving, but Spring officially began March 20th. Awhile back I posted about apps that were popular in the nursing and medical world (There's an app for that, and it's really helpful!) and I am curious if they are still at the top!

A more recent post by Tech Holik: 10 iPhone Apps Every Nurse Must Have mentions these top runners:

1. Nursing Central - a subscription-based app that features numerous helpful tools for nurses.
2. Drug Infusion - features a lightweight drug-infusion guide that stores the records of large number of standardized drug concentrations.
3. Skyscape RxDrugs - an app that features usage guidelines for thousands of medicines, both branded and generic.
4. Epocrates Essentials - for users who want basic medical concepts along with basic content can choose to download the free version.
5. Medscape - has a drug reference section which is absolutely matchless and amazing, for it has reference to nearly 6,000 generic, OTC, and branded medicines.
6. MedCalc - helps the healthcare professionals in different types of calculations which they have to do in their daily routines, like calculating amount of medicine to be administered, appropriate dosage for patients, and many more.

I came across this article by Scrubs Magazine that listed the 50 mobile apps nurses are downloading like crazy that lists the more "for fun" apps nurses use as well.

A few staple uniform colors are your go-to Browns, Blacks, Whites and Navys. You can't go wrong when wearing these simple but stunning colors. Especially when pairing them with your favorite print top!

Black has been, and will always be, a favorite color in practically everyone’s wardrobe... We all end up using it at some point in time! Black scrub pants make for a great foundation to many medical professional’s uniforms. I love the pairing of our White Cross 3-2-1 Wild And Free Crossover Scrub Top and our White Cross 3-2-1 Flare Leg Scrub Pant In Black.

Brown is another must-have color! So many different colors and prints go well with Brown, even Black which I think it is forgotten by many. While I was flipping through our new Fall 2012 catalog I noticed a really fun Print top, the White Cross 100% Cotton Wild Stripe Scoop Neck Scrub Top  which can easily be paired with our White Cross Six Pocket Flare Leg Scrub Pants in Espresso.

White is one color that some shy away from. Possibly because of the age old rule “You Can't Wear White After Labor Day”. But White is a really fun color to brighten up with just about everything and it just always looks crisp and fresh! Another great thing about White is that pretty much every brand has the same shade so you can mix and match without the hassle of trying to make sure you select a top and pant from the same brand. I would pair this outfit up with a all-time customer favorite the Koi Lindsey Scrub Pant in White.

Last but not least is the color Navy, a great color to wear at anytime and for anything! You can easily pair it with a variety of colors or wear it as a full set. I personally like the all Navy look with a hint of lime green! I love love love this top! I have a greys top that is softer and cute, but as a hippy girl, the bottom feels sometimes a little constricting. In contrast, this top has a boxy fit, which is still cute and during a 12 hour day, I never have to pull it down over my hips, it just moves with me. The Institute states it IS dedicated to bringing generosity and compassion to the health care industry. One of their continued missions involves the concept of "humanitarian clowning". Lindsey: My favorite new item for Fall is the Wink 4-Stretch Women's Performance Lab Coat. I like how the style is more form fitting than most lab coats and has princess seaming for a  flattering fit. Also the pocket with the ID loop is an added bonus to keep you organized!
