I’m happy to announce the winner of our Editor @ Large contest for September; the winner is Kim! She’ll be receiving a $50 gift certificate to Lydia’s Uniforms, which she can use to add even more style to her medical uniforms and apparel scrubs.
Everyone in the office enjoyed reading Kim’s submission about her one of a kind scrub style; we loved all her unique ideas. Here’s Kim’s winning submission:
“It is not as easy as one might think to find feminine, attractive, yet stylish scrubs; however, Lydia's makes it easier for the choosier woman. I look for tops with feminine flair and pants that match my body type. I often pair a small scarf in the fall and spring that can easily be worn all day to match. I take extra time to look for cute and unusual jewelry to coordinate the colors and tie it all together. My favorite way to personalize my scrubs is with embroidery, whether I put my name, or simple designs on pockets or pants leg or along seam lines. I get many comments daily on the way I make scrubs seem more interesting yet maintain professionalism.”
When contacting Kim about her win I asked a few questions and found out a little bit about what she does. Here’s what she had to say, “I am a wife and mother of two. I work full-time in the radiology profession at a private healthcare facility where I manage and operate the radiology department at our office of 11 doctors and 4 nurse practitioners. At our office each department wears a particular color each day (administrative, nursing, medical records, radiology, etc.). It is interesting to see the ideas we come up with to make our uniforms more individual and suited to individual tastes while staying within the dress code guidelines.”
Congratulations Kim. It sounds like between family and work you’re a very busy person, but we’re happy to hear that you still find time to add a little personalized style to your medical scrubs.
