April is Organ Donation Awareness Month!

• An average of 68 organ transplants are performed every day in the United States
• A single donor can save up to 6 lives and can enhance the lives of up to 75 people
• Approximately 28,000 patients begin new lives each year thanks to organ transplants
• On average, 106 people are added to the nation's organ transplant waiting list each day - one every 14 minutes
• People of all ages and medical histories should consider themselves potential donors. Your medical condition at the time of death will determine what organs and tissue can be donated
 

Please take the time to sit down and really think about becoming an organ donor. Do your research on organ donation and talk it over with your family.

Spring is finally here; and the 3 inches of snow we still have on the ground here in the midwest is deceiving, but Spring officially began March 20th. Not only does this mean we can start wearing short sleeve shirts and shorts soon, but we can also wear all the fun bright prints we all love so much.

Tis' the season of ugly sweaters! This year Lydia's decided to get on board with this fun idea and have an Ugly Sweater Day. Sam, one of our Call Center Team Leaders, set up this event to spread some holiday cheer. We all had a couple laughs and we even had prizes for the ugliest sweater!

I caught up with Sam and Nicole to take a pic. We had so much fun dressing up for today!  

Veterans Day is Sunday and was established on November 11^th, 1918 to remember and commemorate those who have served for our country. Here are some of the ways you can do your part to honor our veterans any day of the year:

Coming Home Project: This program helps assists veterans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan by improving the psychological, emotional, spiritual, and relationship challenges they face.

Disabled American Veterans: Volunteers provide free rides to and from veterans’ medical facilities.

Soldiers' Angels: Volunteers can "adopt" a deployed service member and send supplies and letters to them.

Hire A Hero: A job resource site to help employ our veterans.

I can’t believe that Customer Service Week has already come to an end! If you didn't already know, Customer Service Week is celebrated nationally from October 1^st through the 5th.This year, Lydia's celebrated everyday with something different; from Customer Service Bingo, a delicious Bake Off and Team Spirit Day today. 

Supervisors also gave prizes away anytime a Customer Service Representative showed a "Moment of Greatness in Customer Service". This went along with the other treats and prizes provided throughout the week.

Of course Customer Service is important all year long and in every field of work! Whether you are in the medical, dental or hospitality field; customer service applies to every profession. So remember to always smile and show people that you truly care about them and their needs. I think most would be surprised how a simple nice gesture can make someone else's day better!

Call me old fashioned, but I love shopping from a catalog! I enjoy flipping through the pages seeing the outfits stylists put together. Another great bonus to catalog shopping is seeing what’s new and trendy. There are a couple things I dislike about shopping from a catalog, one of which is trying to find the right item number to match the item I am looking at. Then I call in or get online to find out I had the wrong item or that this one did not come in the color I wanted. My other dislike is the payment option. I don’t really like giving out my credit card number over the phone nor do I like sending a check in the mail and having to wait for it to clear before my order is processed. However all of these become obsolete when using Lydia’s Browse by Catalog!

Not only can you view the most current catalog the day it comes out, you can also order straight from the catalog with ease. This eliminates the time you spend trying to find the item number then typing it in the search or writing it down. You can actually click the item you wish to purchase and a small screen will pop up with all of the product descriptions. From there you can add the item right to your cart!

The temperature is slowly falling, leaves will soon be turning colors, and football season has begin -  which means fall has arrived! This also means Lydia’s new Holiday catalog has been released with all of our new prints for my favorite holiday, Halloween!
