WORKING IN A NURSING HOME ,YOU NEED A VARIETY OF THINGS TO KEEP THINGS POSITIVE,ONE WAY IS WEARING YOUR COLORFUL SCRUBS,ESP, THE SEASONAL ONES. THE RESIDENTS MAKE COMMENTS ABOUT THEM, SUCH AS OH ITS HALLOWEEN OR CHRISTMAS ECT. SOMETIMES THE WILL SAY WHAT APRETTY TOP, ITS SO CHEERY! THAT MAKES ME SMILE, WHEN THEY SMILE!!!!!

When I decided to go to college to study Medical Assisting, I was somewhat afraid of the daunting task that was before me. My size is hard to find in stores, so I turned to the web as an alternent choice. Online I have found hip medical scrubs every student is jealous of. I add my own flare with hand-picked jewelry. I have a different necklace for almost every outfit! Also I have two scrub shirts for every one pair of pants, that way outfits corrdinate together. I also don't leave home without my colored crocs matched to my scrubs. I have every color under the sun! Oh, and it doesn't hurt to have matching nail polish!

I personalize my scrubs with unique jewelry. The charms or colors of beads that I use on the necklaces and earrings that I make reflect me. Statements of faith, inspiration, or family can be seen in my jewelry.

I always try to make my scrubs a little different than everyone elses, whether its by wearing shoes that match my uniform for the day, to styling my hair differently, to wearing jewlery to match. I am very picky about my scrubs and love to match my accessories to what I'm wearing.

I stand out among the rest whenever i wore my lydia's uniform, aside from comfortability, my collegues find exciting cuts and style that they were waiting for me to wear my next lydia's scrub the next day, thus, making me inspired to go work everyday. One time i wore a baby phat set scrubs, my patients told me how very professional i look and how they wished that everybody wear nice scrubs. because of this, i encouraged my co-workers,that i could order their next scrubs at Lydia's, w/c is so funny coz i am now the "lydia's order girl" here in our unit.

My scrub style is unique for two reasons. One, I am not afraid to wear bright colors, often not matching tops and bottoms. I also love to wear tops with animals, kid prints, etc. It makes my patients more comfortable when having to go through a procedure and my scrubs strike a conversation. Two, I have a tattoo on my chest that just peaks slightly out of the neckline of m scrub tops. It almost looks like that "to die for" piece of jewelry that goes with everything, that every girl wants, and most people don't realize it's a tattoo!!!!

Well of course finding the brightest colors always makes a huge difference. I work in a hospital, and get different age groups. I sometimes like to apply little rinestones on my uniforms. I always have a seasonal scrub as well, it helps, because it makes your patients and their family members feel at ease.

My scrub style is unique in the fact that I like wearing fun print tops with solid color pants. You might ask how is that unique, but for me it is I wear size 5x tops which seem to be a challenge to find in stores and at other online uniform stores. Lydia's has the best selection of size 5x print tops that I have found. Most places have just the plain solid tops in my size. I like to have fun with what I am wearing, it adds excitement to my day when I wear something that is colourfull and happy....Thanks Lydia's

It is not as easy as one might think to find feminine, attractive, yet stylish scrubs; however, Lydia's makes it easier for the choosier woman. I look for tops with feminine flair and pants that match my body type. I often pair a small scarf in the fall and spring that can easily be wor all day to match. I take extra time to look for cute and unusual jewelry to coordinate the colors and tie it all together. My favorite way to personalize my scrubs is with embrodiery, whether I put my name, or simple designs on pockets or pants leg or along seam lines. I get many comments daily on the way I make scrubs seem more interesting yet maintain professionability.

I'm a pretty trendy person to begin with so I wouldn't settle for anything less than the stylish scrubs that Lydia's has to offer. I'm always getting new outfits to keep my co-workers amused. They tease me for always having new, up-to-date styles. I keep my work wardrobe interesting by wearing bright colors sometimes too and constantly get positive feedback from patients telling me how nice it is to see bright cheery uniforms aside from the normal "hospital scrubs" or ceil blue, etc. Somedays I wear a plain shirt with my scrub pants to get away from being so "traditional" and accesorize just like I would with any other outfit I put on. Thanks Lydia's for making it easy to stay "trendy" at work!

I receive a scrub catalog almost daily and Lydia's exceeds all of my expectations (and then some). I get compliments daily regarding my darling outfits. It's nice to be able to put on scrubs everyday and feel beautiful. I have Nike tennis shoes to match all of my scrubs, so when I walk out the door in the morning, I am confident that I am looking my best. Thank you for the quality merchandise and the outstanding customer service.
Saturday, September 6, 2008 by Christine Grigorenko:
I've been shopping with Lydia's since the catalog has been arriving in my mailbox. I love the low prices, and the quality of the scrubs you have. What I like best, is the fact is, that many are not a " traditional" scrub you see being worn in a nursing facility or hospital. I love to match my clothing to my shoes, to my socks. I'm the type to match my things as best I can, and put my best face forward, and look as feminine as I can. Lydias allows me to do so with the beautiful lines of scrubs and varieties of clothing you carry. I'm able to have multiple shoes, tops, bottoms, and other things to put my own best face forward. Many of my patients comment on my outfits daily, as well as my coworkers and administration. My patients families also give positive comments as well. I have never been given a negative comment yet. I always look for new designs, and Lydia's gives me that chance. Keep the good things coming.

I am so excited since I have found Lydias! I saw the magazine at my sister house and i was hooked eversince. I feel that in my profession I need to pay extra attention to they style of scrubs that I wear. I work in the prison system and also at a drug and alcohol Detox, so charactor scrubs are not accectable. I feel that I can express who I am through my scrubs by wearing more modern cut tops and flattering boot cut pants. I love all the new trendy styles Lydias offers. I match my scrubs up with different lanyards and cute shoes. Im excited that I can still look young, modern, and trendy while working!

I stand out because I am always injuring myself in someway and working with what ever injury I have. Couple years ago I fractured my shoulder & tore my rotator cuff. Really stood out in my scrubs with my matching sling. Last month I broke my foot & of course my ortho shoe had to coordinate. The uncanny thing is that I work on the trauma floor

I work on an inpatient adolescent unit. A lot of nurses feel that, since we're in a children's hospital, the best way to connect with the patients is to wear cartoon print scrubs. And while I own one or two cartoon tops, I find that the patients are much more interested in the outfits that look like something I could wear out of the hospital and into the community without anyone knowing I've come from work. I find that Lydia's has the biggest selection of scrubs like that of anyone around!

I work in a cancer clinic, where we treat pts. from all over the world, so I keep my uniforms classy and vivid colors. I change with the seasons and the holidays. I keep them crisply ironed with nice creases, believe me the pts. notice your scrubs and comment. Some have said I look forward to coming in to see what you are wearing today. I coordinate with matching rings and seasonal earrings, socks and sometimes shoes. I look for unique patterns and styles that compliment my larger frame. On Fridays we agree to all wear the same color, like orange or green, patriotic holidays get red, white and blue. We have fun.

Working in a children's hospital and attending school, requires me to have 2 wardrobes of scrubs. Lydia'a carries the most Koi scrubs (of which I am addicted). I have tops and pants in both of my uniform colors for school and work. Lydia's makes it easy to find really cute kid-friendly tops. The kids lighten up when they recognize a familiar character that you are wearing which can make it much easier to get your job done. I have tried ordering scrubs from other companies (just to be fair) but never have the experience I have with Lydia's. I bring in my catalogs to classmates & co-workers trying to share my own experience. I am a customer for life!!!

The scrubs that I wear reflect the way I am with every patient I see, bright and cheery. I love character prints even though my primary care is adults. It lets them know there is a little child in all of us. I believe that my style helps the patients relax in what otherwise is a stressfull time. Scrubs help to show your true colors.

Sunday, September 21, 2008 by Dixie:
My uniform stands out because I always wear a vest with big patch pockets over my scrubs-hey I need all the pockets I can get for all my nursing gear! I love colorful prints and coordinate everything right down to my hair ribbon.

We recently had to start wearing certain scrub colors. To make mine look unique I pair them with jackets, hair accessories, and shoes that coordinate but have a different look.

I work at a hospital on the rehab floor, as a PCA. The patiants love the tops that I wear and it really dose help them get up and moveing. To me if you feel good in what you are wearing it will show with the work that you do. And a smile or a laughter is very contagious. I love wearing Lydia's uniforms cause they last longer and very well made. Keep up the good work.
Sunday, September 21, 2008 by Nora :
I personally love my scrubs that I can cordinate them to look like professional, although casual attire. I love tops like the IguanaSkinz by IguanaMed Short Sleeve Scrub Tee and match them to the pants and top it with a lab jacket and I am off. I use crocs only to match my attire, hair ribbons to match and earrings I keep classic with gold hoop earrings that match everything. On holidays I wear all the festive wear of the holidays.
Sunday, September 21, 2008 by Louise Brouillette:
What cute things...you could really personalize with those!
Sunday, September 21, 2008 by Christine Grigorenko:
I work in a long term care facility, and I've always been the type of woman who like to put her best face forward. Lydias helps me do that, as the uniforms are very stylish, the prices are reasonable, and quite comfortable. Even my husband tells me how good I look when I leave in the morning. I get many positive comments from my residents, co-workers, and administration. Even on my most recent evaluation for my job performance, my unit manager and DON commented on how Im dressed neat, clean, and fun. Thank you Lydia's, for helping me to put my best face forward.
Sunday, September 21, 2008 by Michele Christie:
Recently my company decided to go with solid black and tan uniforms only. I thought oh no boring but Lydia's provided quite a selection. Tan is not my favorite color, so my mother used her embroidery machine, and made a design around the collar and pockets. She did it in black on the tan and tan on the black. I can mix and match for variety. That makes my scrubs different than everyone else. I feel so special, thanks MOM......

I like wearing the bright tops too and generally change for holidays- it cheers up and when they feel good- you feel good. I guess the happier they are I feel better and work seems less like work. I also beleive with the brighter colors people feel like they can open up to you more- no joke- its they are happy and open, they may be sick but they are not as shy and you seem less overpowering to them, and more like you can talk to them about anything.

I work with 11 physicians, which they all like different colors scrubs. I like to choose a variety of uniforms, so I can please everyone. It is important to personalize my uniforms because my patients always tell me that I am very profesional since I have my name on it.

I always alter something by shortening pants taking in here and there to give a customized fit i like to use embelishments of all types on my scrubs. Lydias always has such a selection I have so much to work with. Everone at work always asks me where did you get your scrubs and i tell them Lydias

I believe that you can totally lift your patient's spirits with how you dress. I like to coordinate my scrubs with not only my jewelry, but even with the eye shadow that I wear. Taking time to look great for my patients is an expression of how much I care!

i;m tired of frumpy uniforms
Wednesday, September 24, 2008 by Stephanie:
I like to show femininity with my scrubs, so I have them taken a little in on the waist, make sure I get hip hugger bottoms, and I don't buy styles that are bulky or too wide/long. I also wear very bright colors and coordinate my stethoscope to whatever I'm wearing that day. It might sound corny, but it's my way of keeping my identity at work! I don't want to look like everyone else, and anything I can do to be unique is awesome.

I've purchased before, and will again! I'd really like to see some scrub tops with the (guru?) stand-up collar! Have you ever seen those, or offer them? Thanks!
Friday, September 26, 2008 by Liza:
Francee- Right now we don't offer any stand-up collars, but I will definitely pass the idea along to our merchandising department. Thanks for your suggestion!
Friday, September 26, 2008 by OlyveOyl:
Being 6'1" it is difficult to find scrubs to truly fit. Since I need to "ride the pants low", I try to keep my top embroidered with my name so as to draw attention to the top - with a variety of colors. This win would be terrific for both my part time job (ortho office) and dental school!

One of the things that most excited me about becoming a nurse was the fact that I get to wear scrubs every day. With so many great new styles to choose from, everyday is fun getting dressed for work. I am an RN on a surgery unit. There are several ways that I have learned to influence a personal style when choosing uniforms for work each day. Being in a surgery unit, it is always very cold. I like to wear colorful long sleeve shirts under my scrub tops. Sometimes I even choose a thermal style long sleeve shirt with a design to add a little fun! It is great to be able to mix and match tops and bottoms. Sometimes its fun to be bold with different color combinations like brown and pink, or gray and purple. Matching socks or designed socks are exciting to wear also to accessorize an outfit. Holiday print scrubs are great as the seasons change. I am excited about wearing Christmas scrub tops from Lydia's for the upcoming season. Its the most wonderful time of the year!!

I do like to color coordinate my clothing outside of the workplace, so why not do the same at work? The other day, one of my elderly residents where I work mentioned I have many color coordinated uniforms to match my shoes, and sometimes my socks! Even one of the nurses I work with noticed something that was totally by accident. My lipstick matched one of my tops, which I did get from Lydia's online. I'm not that crazy when it comes to color coordination, but I do like my clothing to look nice. I just thought it was funny. I will say, I have more scrubs than I do street clothing, and it mainly comes from Lydia's. I love this website, as it's a very convienient way to shop, and even when I had a delivery problem, customer service was very helpful and my order was there the very next day.

I work in the Department of Pediactric Dentisitry at a State University. I like to have fun and bright scrubs that are attractive to children. We also treat children with physical or mental disabilities. Having bright scrubs or scrub tops that have characters they recognize is fun and a good distraction for them. There are times we treat patients who have a physical diasability, that prevents them from moving and have difficulties communicating. When they give me a big grin because they recognize a character on my scrubs, it makes my day and theirs! Thanks for the nice selections of scrubs! I also want to mention that the customer service is amazing. I had trouble with sizing and they made it a breeze to fix and was very helpful!

I work on a unit floor we wear pretty much any colors we like and the same applies to the prints too except for DENIM and CAMOFLAUGE which is a no-no there (because we located so close to a military-base)...As to the jewelery it is limited to one ring and one pair of stud-type earrings...I think this rule is great, because people do go over-broad when it comes to necklaces, rings, bracelets, and earrings, yes I am guilt of that sometimes...lol...Even with rules your style does not have to be hindered if you order from Lydia's...Great place and even better prices... Thank you...
Tuesday, October 7, 2008 by Lesley Pike:
I work in a small community hospital and our dress is free-range! Whatever color, style, fit, material as long as it covers all the necessary parts needless to say. I think that too way rules regarding colors and styles can really restrict how much fun you can have with clothes even if it has to be scrubs! Despite wearing scrubs everyday (i mostly wear koi) I paint my nails and wear jewerly...the better I feel the better the work I do! A lot of the nurses I work with have fallen in love with these beaded landyard from BooJee beads that you can wear your name tag on. They are like necklaces...but actually genius tear away landyards! LYDIAS...i think you should start selling them!

As I work in the Peds unit, most of the patients are very, very young. I always wear bright colors and also wear stickers on my sleeves. I try and put on the neon ones so that the children cannot help but smile. I also have a trademark ladybug applique on the right side of my shirt. When there are holidays I put little outfits to match the holiday on her. It always brings smiles and for me, that is something which is so important in my job.

to stand out from the rest, i wear scrubs with a skirt on top. i think it makes me stand out and of course it always matches. I also wear a nice sweater in the winter and its always matching and i think it looks cute. i have never seen anyone else put it together like myself!!
Wednesday, February 9, 2011 by Emily:
I love fun badge holders and lanyards to accent my scrubs. A friend of mine made me a macrame lanyard with multicolor glass beads, which I use frequntly. Also, I have long hair, so I like to play with diferent styles and often wear coordinated headbands. As for the scrubs themselves, I'm a big fan of floral and paisely prints on top with unique collars or necklines- something different than the traditional V-neck, although I do have a lot of mock-wrap tops that I like to wear. And for bottoms- anything that is solid colored, I'm not swimming in, and doesn't have a tapered leg or elastic waist.
