In our demanding world, we choose to do the things that matter to us personally. I support Breast Cancer Awareness. My mother was a nurse. She was 26 years old when she discovered a lump in her breast. She died several days later, when, after her mastectomy that diagnosed breast cancer, she experienced post-op complications which were fatal. My twin and I were just over a year old, our brother was three. She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a friend, and a registered nurse. None of the lives she had touched would ever be the same. I grew up without her and became a nurse myself. After I had children of my own, I was priveleged to meet an inspiring young woman (who also happens to be a RN!) who was battling breast cancer. She underwent surgery and treatment and several years later, is cancer free. Eventually, when she was ready, she had genetic evaluation. Her mother, sister, and two daughters are empowered to make choices about their own prevention/detection now that they know they are at risk. Investment in research identified the marker that allows them to be one step ahead. I believe if each of us whose lives are touched by this disease shares our knowledge, our experience, a moment of caring with another, we can make a difference. Teach/encourage self breast exam and perform it yourself! Provide a friendly reminder to "get your mams grammed!"--I posted it on my wall on Facebook! Give to an organization that you believe in (I am active with Relay For Life and support Komen for a Cure). Wear pink and tell folks why. Support someone that is fighting cancer by offering a warm hug, sending a card or a surprise bunch of flowers tied with a scarf, or join them for a comforting cup of tea. Every effort matters. Every bit of giving takes a little power from the disease. And every bit of giving transfers that power to those who continue to fight the fight.

I absolutley love Lydia's!!! I live in the local area and visited a few other stores after getting a new position that required scrubs but found that the selection, both size and varitey were disappointing!!! The selection at Lydia's was awesome, and an added bonus was the extended sizes and shipping time which are unbeatable!! So, if you are looking for a wide variety and affordability, and need them in a flash, shop Lydia's and you'll never need or want to shop anywhere else again!!!

This will be the first time I will be purchasing scrubs from LYDIA's. I have been on disability for a few years after a bad accident, leaving me with little money to spend which is still very tight. After 36 years of Nursing, I am now using my experiences in a new position as a Nursing Supervisor. I have been buying my scrubs at thrift stores because I have found them them to be so expensive in the stores & on line as well. One of my co-workers suggested Lydia's & found the prices to be reasonable. Things I can actually afford that haven't been worn before. Just wanted to thank you in advance as I hope they aren't just comfortable, but as lovely as they look in the pictures. "NURSES RULE"

I support breast cancer by making beautiful breast cancer awareness jewelry throughout the year then donating it to charities to raise money for research. Last week I discovered a co-worker was upset because her Aunt was suffering from the disease for the fourth year. I gave my friend a crystal bracelet to give to her Aunt and told her to let her know how she was loved. It turns out it was also the Aunts birthday. Doing nice things for strangers is rich and rewarding. Nursing is a profession that chose me and I could not imagine doing anything else. Making the jewelry for the cause is just one way to join in the hunt for the cure and show I care.

Everyday I wear this pink ribbon on my name badge at work. I wear this pink ribbon so people will be reminded of this devastating disease. I wear this pink ribbon to show others that I care for women who have this disease. I wear this pink ribbon so that I might be able to be there for a family member who cannot bear to look in his mothers eyes..because he is crying..I wear this pink ribbon in support of the fight, courage, and victory against this disease.

Wishing Toni Rossi the best of luck in her new position as Nursing Supervisor! 36 years of nursing, WOW. I would love to hear your funny stories of patients, doctors and co-workers throughout all of those years. Thanks for your dedication and perseverance when so many have bailed out. We need nurses like you with experience. Lydia's is the place to buy. They do care about us. Not just another online company here:)
